In Pakistan, 13 people died after a suspected gas explosion triggered a residential building collapse in Karachi today. The blast took place at a house in Soldier Bazar area. So far, 11 people have been pulled out from the debris and shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities said the search and rescue operations are underway.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over gas safety and poor infrastructure in several residential areas. Earlier last month, a massive fire broke out at a shopping mall in Karachi, claiming the lives of 80 people.
