Pakistan won the last match

 

Kathmandu – Pakistan defeated Ireland by 3 wickets in their last match of ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Chasing the target of 107 runs, Pakistan finished with the loss of 7 wickets in 18.5 overs. Captain Babar Azam scored 32 runs in 34 balls with 2 boundaries. Opener Mohammad Rizwan, Abbas Afridi and Sam Ayub were out for 17 runs each.
Shaheen Shah Afridi remained not out for 13 runs with 2 sixes in 5 balls. Ireland’s Barry McCarthy took 3 wickets, Curtis Campher took 2 wickets, Mark Adair and Ben White took 1 each. Before that, Ireland, who lost the toss and were called to bat first, made 106 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Gareth Delaney scored 31 runs off 19 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes. Josh Little added 22 runs and Mark Adair added 15 runs.

In Group A, Pakistan finished third with 4 points with 2 wins and 2 losses from 4 matches. Losing in the Super Over against the US was a huge blow to Pakistan. USA reached the Super 8 by finishing second with 5 points from 4 games. From Group A, India topped the group with 7 points from 4 matches and advanced to the Super 8. Under Group D, Nepal will play its last match against Bangladesh at 5:15 AM.
