Punjab Kings achieve record win in Indian Premier League cricket

Kathmandu-– Despite a weak batting, Punjab Kings achieved a record win in Indian Premier League cricket with a brilliant comeback through bowling. Punjab defeated Kolkata by 16 runs in the match on Tuesday and registered their fourth win. This is the lowest total defended in IPL history.
Chasing a target of 112, Kolkata were all out for 95 runs in 15.1 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi top-scored with 37 while captain Ajinkya Rahane and Andre Russell scored 17 runs each.1
Kolkata, who lost 2 wickets after adding 7 runs in the first innings, then increased their partnership and at one point was in a comfortable position of 68-2, but then lost wickets continuously. Punjab’s bowlers made a brilliant comeback and secured a miraculous victory. Yuzvendra Chahal took 4 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. Marco Janssen took 3 wickets for 17 runs in 3.1 overs. Glenn Maxwell, Arshdeep Singh and Xavier Bartlett took 1 wicket each. Earlier, Punjab, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, were all out for 111 runs in 15.3 overs. Prabhsimran Singh top-scored with 30 runs while Priyansh Arya scored 22 runs. Shashank Singh scored 18 runs. Harshit Rana of Kolkata took 3 wickets while Varun Chakraborty and Sunil Narine took 2-2 wickets and Vaibhav Arora and Enrich Nortje took 1-1 wickets. With this win, Punjab, who have collected 8 points from 6 matches, have climbed to fourth place in the points table, while Kolkata, with only 6 points from 7 matches, is in sixth place.
