Record-breaking competition on Mount Everest

Kathmandu. Kamirita Sherpa, who set a world record by successfully climbing the highest peak Everest for the 29th time, has ascended to the summit of Everest for the 30th time. In the ongoing ascent of the spring season, Kamirita climbed Mt. Everest for the 29th time on 30th Baisakh, breaking the previous record of climbing Mt. Everest for the 28th time and setting a new record.
Breaking the record, Kamirita is heading towards the summit on Monday for the second time climbing Everest this season. According to Khimlal Gautam, head of the temporary field office of the tourism department at the Everest base camp, Kamirita is now near the fourth camp of the Everest in accordance with the plan to reach the peak of the Everest on Wednesday morning.

“Kamirita Sherpa has now reached South Col for the 30th time to climb Mt. The plan is to reach the peak tomorrow morning”, said Gautam, the head of the field office.

54-year-old Kamirita from Solukhumbu Thame is the only mountaineer in the world who holds the record for the most number of summits of Mount Everest. On May 13, 1994, Kamirita, who reached the peak of Mount Everest for the first time, holds the record of climbing the highest peak of eight thousand meters. Kamirita Sherpa is the only record holder in the 71-year history of climbing Mt.

In the spring season of the previous year, Pasang Dawa Sherpa of Solukhumbu made a record by climbing Mt. Mt. 27 times. The competition to set various records is going on at Everest. At the same time, journalist Poornima Shrestha is heading towards the peak of Everest in accordance with the plan to set a record by climbing Everest three times in a week. Journalist Shrestha has climbed Mount Everest twice this year.

It is reported that he is also heading towards the peak for the third climb. Similarly, Hota Pudka Sagar Sunuwar has also climbed Mt. Everest at this time with the aim of setting a record. Kaskika Sagar is three feet seven inches tall. At this time, Chief Gautam informed that 70 percent of the climbers who have taken permission to climb Mount Everest have already climbed it.

He said that during this period, 460 climbers and Sherpa helpers climbed Mt. “Until now, about 70 percent of climbers have climbed Mt. Everest,” he said.

Evacuating the Everest base camp

The base camp of Everest, decorated with colorful tripals in the snow that shines like silver, is slowly becoming deserted. Gautam, the head of the field office of the department, said that the base camp has become deserted as the climbers are heading towards the destination after climbing Mount Everest and the rest of the climbers are heading towards the summit of Mount Everest. According to him, 1,500 tents were erected at Everest Base Camp for the management of climbers.

Around 3,000 people including mountaineers, Sherpa guides, helpers and representatives of other concerned agencies were in the base camp. There is human movement in the base camp during the two months of climbing season.

According to the department, two Mongolian citizens died during this period. More than 50 climbers injured during the climb have been rescued from different areas of Mount Everest. Among the injured climbers, some of their hands and eyes were scratched. It is said that they are being treated in various hospitals in Kathmandu.

It is said that the Mountaineering Monitoring and Facilitation Committee has also played a role in stopping illegal activities in the base camp, random drone flying and controlling the illegal activities of foreign nationals.

More than 1,500 tents at the base camp will be near South Col tomorrow morning. The field office of the department has informed all the climbers to complete the treatment within the same time as the weather is good by May 25.

This year’s spring climbing started on 28th Baisakh. The climbing door was opened after 10 skilled workers (Icefall Doctors) had done ‘rope fixing’ (hanging the rope) to the top of Everest.

Rakesh Gurung, Director of Adventure Tourism and Mountaineering Branch of the Tourism Department, said that Mount Everest climbing has almost reached its final stage. He mentioned that the rest of the climbers are expected to reach the peak easily as the weather is favorable.

According to the mountain climbing branch of the department, 414 people including 75 women and 339 men from 41 climbing groups had taken permission to climb Mt. Everest this season.
