Kathmandu. Researchers have developed an electronic tongue using machine learning. which can quickly detect the freshness and quality of food and beverages. This system converts chemical changes in food and beverages into electrical signals through ion-sensitive field-effect transistor sensors.
Scientists from the Pennsylvania State University in the US (ISFET) have succeeded in analyzing beverages with an accuracy of more than 97 percent by connecting them to neural networks. It can distinguish the percentage of adulteration or brand in food and beverages and detect freshness. This technology is claimed as a miraculous development in the food industry as well as the health sector. Researchers say that it can now be used in surveillance. The goal of the scientists is to make it cheap and reach every person.
