Shiva Neupane’s Inspiring Story of Falang Food Dictionary Included in Grade Nine Curriculum in Nepal
The aggregated examination committee of Waling Municipality, Syangja, has incorporated a short biographical account and transformative journey of Australia-based writer Shiva Neupane, whose journey transcended from hospitality to that of a food writer. His contribution to Australia’s multicultural hospitality by compiling a multicultural food dictionary is evident from the feedback letter he received from former Honourable Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison. Shiva’s motivational and inspiring stories have bridged the multicultural culinary landscape of Australia and Nepal. The examination committee believes that incorporating such an inspiring story into the Class Nine English subject for fifteen public schools may bring about a positive attitude among young students when it comes to attaching importance to work ethics. Shiva expressed his view on social media that he is deeply appreciative of this invaluable honour bestowed upon him. As the author of the Falang Food Dictionary, the first food dictionary of Nepal in global cuisines, Shiva reiterates that he will continue to contribute wholeheartedly to his motherland unconditionally, despite being in Australia in the years to come.
