A partial solar eclipse occurred today, 25th Oct, 2022, and was visible from Europe, Northern Africa, Western and Central Asia. Apart from some parts of Northeast, the eclipse was visible from most parts of India. Solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between earth and the sun.
Release of negative energy makes Surya Grahan (solar eclipse) uncommon. Temple doors are closed in India so that negative rays do not touch the idols. However, the solar eclipse can be observed with a solar viewer. Religion and science come close together to explain this phenomenon.
According to The Times of India, In Hindu mythology, Rahu and Ketu block the sun and the moon in the form of an eclipse. In India people take bath in Ganga, or with Gangajal, by mixing it with bath water. People are advised to read holy books and not eat food during the eclipse. People can add Tulsi Patra in food. Pregnant women are advised not to hold sharp objects like knives or scissors and the rays might be harmful for unborn babies.
In Nepal, the eclipse was withdrawn at 7:30 pm, although it could not be seen. The eclipse lasted for 32 minutes from 4:52 pm to 5:24 pm. If the solar eclipse is seen with naked eye, the eyesight can be damaged not instantly, but gradually.
