Seoul, Korea – The Nepali Students Association, South Korea (SONSIC) has concluded the “SONSIC International Educational Conference-2024” on the occasion of its 20th foundation day.
The international academic conference organized with the theme of “Collaborative Leadership: Catalyst of Interdisciplinary Innovation and Scientific Excellence for Sustainable Development” was held on June 15th and 16th at Namseol University in Ch’nan, South Korea. Honorable Sumana, the Minister of Education, Science and Technology of the Government of Nepal. Shrestha’s chief hospitality (virtual), Prof. Dr. Seung Yoon of Nepal Embassy in Korea, NIIED team leader Kim Na Yun, experts in various fields and more than two hundred personalities in the field of education and research. It was completed in the presence of researchers, experts and students of national and international level.
Addressing the opening session, Minister of Education Shrestha expressed his commitment that this conference played a great role in uniting all the Nepali scientists and academics scattered around the world, including Korea, and to come up with a proposal to hold these types of conferences in Nepal. He also appealed to Nepali scientists and educationists spread all over the world to help Nepal by coordinating and collaborating with foreign educational institutions and policy levels in modernizing education by becoming more responsible towards the nation. Special thanks to the organizers for trying to connect everyone through such a program saying that only education and research can civilize the society and further refine the meaning of human life.
The opening session was presided over by the President Prof. Dr. Seung Yong Yun, Deputy Chief Pushparaj Bhattarai, Chairman of Scientific Committee Devi Bahadur Basnet gave a special address. His Excellency Jyoti Pyakurel Bhandari, the Nepali ambassador to Korea, was scheduled to attend the opening session, but he could not come due to a sudden health problem, and his message was read out by Meghnath Paudel, the president of Sonsic. The coordinator of the organizing committee, Kiran Suwal, welcomed the event and Meghnath Paudel, the president of the society, gave a speech of thanks. Narayan Saraf, secretary of the program facilitation organization, Dr. Sonsik Media Deputy Committee Coordinator. Kamala KC, and Kanti Khatiwada, a student studying at Namasul University, did it jointly.
The opening of the two-day conference was on the morning of June 16, by the President of Namsaul University Prof. Dr. Seung Yong Yun, Deputy Head of Nepalese Embassy in Korea, Pushparaj Bhattarai and Meghnath Paudel, President of the Society, jointly did this. Prof. Scientist invited from Nepal as a special speaker of the conference. Dr. Niranjan Parajuli and Professor. Dr. There was a special performance by Louis Kenner. Similarly, the famous television personality Sujan Shakya gave a special presentation. In the inaugural session, Sonsik has launched its own app for the first time for the benefit of Nepali students. The app was made public by Pushparaj Bhattarai, deputy chief of the Nepali Embassy.
On the first day of the conference, professors Dr. Srijan Thapa and Dr. Eun Sil Kim gave special advice to domestic and foreign students studying in Korea in addition to intensive interaction. After that, a talent show aimed at immigrant children in Korea was held. In the conference, four separate sessions covering all topics including education, sociology, natural science, medicine, pharmacy, microbiology, computer science, engineering, alternative energy, psychology were conducted for two hours at the same time, while the poster presentation lasted for one hour.

In addition to giving a special presentation about the related research facts, the professors, scientists, researchers and students who are researching on different topics, shed light on their research. Professor Dr. I. led by Gyanendra Prasad Joshi. More than half a dozen scientists and researchers gave presentations about their researches in the second session, which covered topics such as IT, engineering and computer science. In the session of social science and management, professors Dr. Han Yeol Yoo and Dr. Han Yun Jung was invited as a special presenter while five researchers explained the results of their research papers.
The third session is led by professor Dr. Madhusudan Atreya has done it masterfully. Likewise, professors Dr. Srijan Thapa and Dr. Prof. Dr. as a special guest speaker in the session on ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing’ held under the leadership of Yoon Sil Kim. A Jung Park and Dr. Sharanhari Shrestha gave a special address, while other researchers and students made seven special presentations. Dr. Saugat Sivakoti, Dr. Kapil Gurung and Dr. Usman Muhammad played an effective role in facilitating sessions had done. Dozens of researchers also had a significant participation in the poster presentation session. The research done by the participating researchers representing Korea and other countries is very high quality and can make a great contribution to the society. Ghanshyam Gyawali said.
Sonsik, established in 2004, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year by holding various events. Sonsik, which is expanding its network through its alumni around the world, has been conducting educational and cultural programs. This year, on the occasion of the 30th annual celebration of Namsaul University, the conference was held in collaboration with Sonsik and the university.
