Seoul. South Korea launched the second military spy satellite ‘SpaceX Falcon-9’ rocket, the Korean Ministry of Defense announced on Monday.
The ‘Falcon-9’ rocket, carrying 11 satellites including domestic military spy satellites, took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, United States of America at 8:16 am on Monday.
45 minutes after launch, the satellite was put into orbit, according to South Korea’s Ministry of Defense.
South Korea has said it plans to launch five military spy satellites by 2025, with the second one carrying a ‘synthetic aperture radar’ sensor.
Earlier, the first satellite fitted with ‘electro-optical’ and ‘infrared sensors’ was launched in December last year.
