Kathmandu : Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said a stronger, more accountable and people-oriented democracy is the alternative to the current democracy.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Loktantra Diwas, President Thapa stressed the need of a stronger, more accountable and people-oriented democracy to bridge the gap between people’s expectations and achievements in today’s reality.

Paying tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the people’s rights and democracy, he mentioned that it is the shared responsibility to build a system to make people feel about achievements gained from democratic struggles, not to limit them to pages of history.

“It is the need of hour to win people’s trust through good governance and development by practically implementing the sentiments of the constitution,” reads the message.
