The Supreme Court has directed the Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, to refrain from making any policy-level or strategic decisions until the final hearing of the case filed against him. A division bench comprising Justices Nahakul Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokhrel issued the interim order on Tuesday, instructing Chief Minister Yadav to avoid decisions that could have long-term or far-reaching implications.”
In the prima facie assessment, serious concerns have been raised regarding the values and transparency of parliamentary democracy in relation to the appointment of the Chief Minister. Therefore, a final hearing is required. The government purportedly formed on November 9 shall not engage in policy-level or strategic decision-making,” the order stated.
