Islamism. Activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are demanding the release of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is in jail. A group of PTI activists entered the borders of Islamabad on Monday.
The government has tightened the security system to stop the protesters. The protesters aim to reach D-Chowk in Islamabad.
The Islamist administration called the army to restore law and order under Article 245 of the Constitution of Pakistan. Irfan Memon, an advocate of Islamism, has confirmed this to BBC reporter Shahzad Malik. In January this year, an Islamist court sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years in prison in the Toshakhana case. In addition, he was also fined 2 million Pakistani rupees. Agency
