Tribhuvan University has issued a 35-day ultimatum to Cricket Association of Nepal to vacate the cricket ground located within its premises.

The directive follows a public notice issued on Baisakh 4 as part of the government’s broader campaign to reclaim encroached land, instructing concerned entities to clear occupied areas.

Acting on the same decision, the university’s Registrar Office, through its General Administration Division, has formally written to CAN. The existing agreement between TU and CAN is set to expire at the end of this month.

A university official said separate notices have been sent to various organizations occupying university land as part of the clearance drive, with CAN also asked to vacate as its contract nears expiry.

The TU cricket ground recently saw the completion of parapet construction and installation of seating. The project, undertaken by BKOI-KCDC-BG JV, began in Falgun last year following a contract worth Rs 437.7 million.

Following the upgrades, including parapets and floodlights, the ground has already hosted two seasons of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
