Kathmandu. US President-elect Donald Trump is taking office at the White House today. The 78-year-old Trump will take office as the 47th President of the United States at 12 o’clock on Monday. Before entering the White House, President Trump will participate in a prayer meeting at Center John’s Church in the morning. After that, there will be a meeting between the current President Joe Biden and the newly elected President Trump and the transfer of power
After that, Trump will watch the military parade and parade that will be held on Pennsylvania Avenue near the White House.
According to The Economic Times, Trump is preparing to sign some appointments and more than 100 executive orders on the day of his inauguration. These executive orders will be mainly related to Trump’s election commitments. In an interview with NBC News, Trump said he plans to sign a “record” number of executive orders on the first day.
Various events have been taking place in a festive atmosphere since Saturday to make his return to the White House grand and historic. The celebrations, which began at a golf club in Virginia on Saturday, will continue until Tuesday, according to local media.
The swearing-in ceremony committee has already collected 170 million US dollars in donations to organize victory processions, banquets, concerts, fireworks, etc. in celebration of Trump’s election as president.
It is said that the donors who donate ten million dollars or more for the ceremony will be able to participate in the tea party and banquet with the President and the members of the newly formed cabinet.
Three banquets are planned for guests, special guests, cabinet members, guests, donors, and prominent figures from society. The banquet will feature performances by national and international artists.
The swearing-in ceremony will be held on Tuesday with the National Prayer Meeting.
Trump was elected president in November 2016 and served a full four-year term. In the 2020 election, he left the White House in January 2021 after he was defeated by the current president, Joe Wyden.
Then he was elected for the second term in November 2024. Out of total 538 seats, Trump got 277 and Kamala Harris got 224. Analysts have speculated that with the return of Trump, there may be changes in American policies.
