The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that 24-hour average exposure should not exceed 15 days at most in a year.
Earlier this week, officials in Bangkok said schools in areas with high levels of PM 2.5 may be closed.
As of Thursday morning, 194 of the 437 schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority have been closed. The shutdown has affected the education of thousands of students.
Dozens of other schools in the capital are not under the metropolis and the data is not available.
