Kathmandu. Today, World Cancer Day is being celebrated in Nepal with various public awareness programs.
They are going to celebrate the day by organizing various public awareness programs to reduce cancer deaths. Various programs are held on the occasion of the day.
This year’s slogan of the day has been decided to be ‘The challenge of cancer is increasing, access to care is increasing’. At the call of the World Health Organization (WHO), this day is celebrated worldwide on February 4 every year.
About 13 percent of the total deaths in the world are cancer patients, according to WHO data. Every year, 1 out of 6 people die from cancer. It is found that 22 percent of deaths due to cancer are due to tobacco consumption.
According to the WHO, the risk of cancer can be reduced by 40 percent even if you pay attention to your diet. It is said that the risk of cancer can be reduced by 30 to 50 percent by adopting a healthy lifestyle and not using tobacco products. It is said that obesity, alcohol consumption, low consumption of fruits and vegetables and lack of physical activity also cause cancer.
Cancer is an abnormal growth of body cells or groups of cells. If it is not destroyed or removed in time, then this disease spreads throughout the body and finally the person reaches the mouth of death. It can be treated in the early stages by using surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or all three methods together.
According to doctors, cancer can be prevented to a large extent if detected in time.
