World’s largest car carrier ‘BYD Shenzhen’ unveiled

Kathmandu- BYD, the leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles in China, has released the ‘BYD Shenzhen’. It is said to be the biggest roll-on/roll-off car carrier in the world. It is said that this ship has the capacity to carry 9,200 cars.

This 219-meter long and 37.7-meter wide vessel, which was built in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, is powered by LNG dual-fuel technology, BYD’s state-of-the-art battery pack and soft generator.

This technology has made BYD Shenzhen the most environmentally friendly and efficient car carrier in the world, according to the company.

BYD plans to increase its fleet to eight by 2026, which will help meet growing global demand.

In 2024, it is said that BYD has sent more than 417 thousand electric vehicles abroad. Which is 72 percent more than the previous year.
