Young people of Myanmar should be enlisted in the military

Kathmandu: The military government of Myanmar has made mandatory military service for the young women of the country.
The military government that overthrew the elected government in 2021 has made a rule that youths should be included in compulsory military service amid conflict and unrest across the country.
The military government issued a rule declaring that men between the ages of 18 and 35 and women between the ages of 18 and 27 must serve as soldiers for at least 2 years.
Clashes between ethnic militias and government soldiers have been happening in different parts of the country for the last 2 years. Also, after the coup against the elected government, various political parties have been providing training by forming their own military structures.
Just last month, the Arkan Army AA Group announced that it had captured Paletwa in Chin province.
In Myanmar, in 2010, a law was made requiring young people to become soldiers for at least 2 years, but it has not yet been implemented. However, now that various ethnic and political militias are being formed across the country, it is said that the government is going to implement the rule that the youth must become soldiers.
