Three New Poems by Eva Lianou Petropoulou from Greece
1. I Miss the Hug
I miss the hug,
A hug that they give you and you forget
The weaknesses of your existence.
I miss a kiss
The kiss that someone give you and your stomach
Makes those noise, like full of butterflies.
I miss the smile
That childish smile that you have
You keep smiling and all nature becomes
Pink
I miss the walk to the beach,
The waves,
The perfume of the salt
I miss the sunshine and the sunset,
All the simple things that I had.
I miss the generosity of people
I miss the kindness of grandparents
I miss the relaxing moments of drinking a coffee
Now, they all want to be your friend,
Your position, your talent, your contact,
Your potential, your life almost but no one…
Nobody wants to get in your shoes,
They are too tight !!
2. Forgiveness
A word that is coming out from the brave heart
I am not asking to forgive as a Human
I am asking to forgive as a GOD
As HE has the kindness and the generosity to see
The human’s mistake.
I am asking to forgive not as a man
But as An Angel that every day and night
Is traveling from Earth to sky….
I don’t need any paper
Green or blue
I saw your heart
You had it there in front of me…
I understand that silence,
That silver silence
I am damned in sky and earth…
I am just a soul traveling alone..
Seeking for forgiveness.
3. Good Night Poem
What a caterpillar may call the end
A butterfly call it the beginning of a beautiful journey…
The stars are so far, but we can see the lights
And feel their heat
As I am thinking of you
Days and nights are together
No distance
Only sun
Only Moon
And for once they are together
In this beautiful sky
Thinking of you
The days
Think about you
My heart
My body
My soul
Wake up
And
Dance in circles
Imagine you are here
Imagine you are close to me
Imagine our life starts
This is my wish
My prayer
As you are my hope
My inspiration
In those long years of loneliness…
