Kathmandu, South Korea’s Ambassador to Nepal, Park Tae-yong, has paid a courtesy call on Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Sharatsingh Bhandari. The meeting held at the ministry today discussed various aspects of the labor agreement between the two countries, informed the ministry’s Assistant Spokesperson Basanta Bahadur Bohara.
The meeting discussed the review and renewal of the agreement under the EPS system and the procedure for sending skilled workers to South Korea.
Similarly, discussions were held on the need to quickly send Nepali workers who have passed the EPS and are on the roster to employment, address the demands of selected workers in shipbuilding and other sectors, and further facilitate the sending of workers who have completed all the stages to Korea in a fast, simple and easy manner.
Minister Bhandari had urged the Korean government to support skill development. Ambassador Yong expressed his high appreciation for Nepali workers and expressed his commitment to continuously send workers from Nepal and take initiatives to employ people whose names are included in the roster with high priority. He also said that he is positive about bringing in more Nepali workers.
Both sides expressed their commitment to cooperation in skill development as there is a possibility of sending skilled workers in the coming days.
