Boko Haram killed 40 farmers in northeastern Nigeria

Kathmandu, The Islamic militant group Boko Haram has killed 40 farmers in Borno state in northeastern Nigeria. The Boko Haram attack comes amid a growing food crisis in Borno, which has been plagued by years of insecurity and displacement due to floods and insurgency since September last year. Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum said that 40 farmers were killed when Boko Haram and its splinter groups attacked farmers.
The attack has created an atmosphere of fear in the area. State Governor Babagana has appealed to citizens to stay in designated safe areas.
Similarly, the governor has asked the military to investigate the attack and take action against the terrorist group, according to international media. The governor has also warned of using armed force against those responsible for heinous acts of violence.
