Kathmandu: COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Nepal, 934 news cases recorded in past 24 hours. Nepal recorded 934 new cases of COVID-19 along with 470 recoveries and one death from the virus on Monday, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 5,351 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 498 out of 2,862 PCR and 436 out of 2,489 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.
There are currently 5,736 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,509 are in self-isolation, 177 in institutional isolation, 47 in ICUs and three on ventilators. So far, 11,972 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 301 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Among them, 236 were reported in Kathmandu, 48 in Lalitpur and 17 in Bhaktapur districts.
