Jhapa. Jhapa Energy, located at Shivasatakshi-4 in Jhapa, has produced eight lakh units of electricity. Jhapa Energy, which started producing solar energy after the construction was completed, produced eight lakh units of electricity in a period of 35 days.
Subwas Bhattarai, the owner of Energy, organized a press conference to inaugurate the project, which is considered a big solar energy project of Koshi Province, by former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, on January 13. According to him, the electricity produced by the project has been connected to the main grid.
Bhattarai said that about 87 crores have been spent on the project so far. According to the project office, the beautification work is going on after the completion of the energy production work. LP Sanwa, Member of Parliament of Jhapa Region No. 4, said that the work has been started with the aim of connecting tourism with solar energy production.
An agreement has been reached between the project and the authority on the matter of purchase and sale of electricity on 12th March 2078, and the price of electricity produced is currently fixed at Rs 7.30 per unit.
The foundation stone of the project, which started as an effort of the private sector to make the country self-sufficient in energy, was laid in 2078 by the then Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subas Nemwang.
Paritosh Chaudhary, head of Nepal Electricity Authority, Damak, informed that six megawatts of electricity is currently connected to the national transmission line from the project.
He informed that 10 megawatts of electricity will be produced after the weather clears, although there is less production in the winter season. He said that the problem of voltage will also be solved along with the generation of electricity.
