Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has stressed the need for a responsible political force to steer the country through a period of extreme despair and public distrust. Addressing a party assembly in Kaski, Thapa said that instead of spreading agitation, Nepali Congress should play a role in patiently guiding the nation toward solutions. He highlighted that society is currently marked by deep anger among citizens and a severe lack of trust in state institutions. “The country needs a power that can manage the situation. Anyone can light a fire, but it takes patience and capacity to put it out. That strength must come from us,” Thapa said. “Anyone can spread excitement, but what we need is a power that practices conscious politics. That is Congress. We will unify; we will manage.”
