Dhanakaul  : Nepali Congress (NC) President, Gagan Kumar Thapa, asserted that the elected Members of Parliament (MPs) should stay directly connect with their voters.

Thapa is contesting in the upcoming March 5 election to House of Representatives from constituency no 4 in Sarlahi district.

He pledged to remain in close touch with voters and dedicate himself to development works by setting up a liaison office in his constituency.

The candidate hopeful reaffirmed his commitment with his prospective voters amid a programme at Dhankaul in Sarlahi today.

The 49-year-old leader, who is lately keeping busy with meeting party’s cadres and leaders apart from local residents from his consistency, said, “The local public will not need to not go elsewhere to meet me. My liaison office will operate here.”

He further mentioned, “I understood the hills, I understood the cities as well and this time I have come here to better understand the Madesh. I will work actively to address the problems prevailing in education, health and employment sector here by leveraging my mechanism, skills and knowledge.”

“I have come here to become your ‘beta’ (son) not just a leader,” he stated, expressing his commitment to respect the mandate of the voters and dedicate himself to development works.

He also vowed to take into account the suggestions and feedbacks from the locals. He also reiterated that the aspirations of the people will be fulfilled.

On the occasion, the leader who recently assumed office as the President of the country’s oldest democratic party, welcomed new cadres into the Nepali Congress.
According to his secretariat, Thapa will return to Kathmandu on coming Friday.
