Kathmandu, The number of doctors in Nepal has reached 45,498. According to the Ministry of Finance, this is the data up to the end of paush, 2080. As mentioned in the economic survey of the financial year 2080/81, 30 thousand 27 medical doctors, 4 thousand 883 dentists and 10 thousand 588 specialist doctors are registered in Nepal Medical Council. Out of which 64.1 percent are men and 35.9 percent are women. During the same period, 122 thousand 313 different categories of nurses have been registered in Nepal Nursing Council.
According to the survey, there are 1.20 doctors and 2.83 nurses per thousand population in Nepal. This is more than the standards set by the World Health Organization. Similarly, as of phalgun 2079, 12,686 health workers including doctors, nurses, nurses, doctors, health assistants and women’s health volunteers have joined the government government service.
By February of the financial year, it has been seen that 46 million 56 thousand services have been provided through internal, external and emergency services from government and private health institutions. During the same period of the last fiscal year, such service was done 28.8 million times. Statistics show that there are 849 foreign nurses working in Nepal. According to the survey, out of 122 thousand 313 nurses registered in Nepal Nursing Council till phalgun 2080, the number of foreign nurses is 849. Among them, there are 1,507 specialist nurses, 37,420 midwives, and 66 midwives.
