Indian President Ram Nath Kovind visited government-run ashram in Vrindavan; offered prayers at Bankey Behari Temple in Vrindavan

Vrindavan: President Ram Nath Kovind today stressed upon the social support for remarriage of widows and destitute women and their economic independence, so that these women can live a life full with dignity and self-respect.
He was speaking to the destitute women of Krishna Kutir, an government-run ashram in Vrindavan of Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking on this occasion, the President said that country should come forward to stop the ill-treatment being given to the widows and destitute women.
Mr Kovind said that Uttar Pradesh Government is helping the destitute and widows and has made such Ashrams at other places like Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Lucknow also.
On the occasion, Governor Aandiben Patel advocated for the remarriage of those women who become widow in early age. The woman of the Krishna Kutir Ashram shared their experiences and thanked the State Government for providing all kind of facilities to them.
Earlier, Mr Kovind also offered prayers at Bankey Behari Temple in Vrindavan.
