Kathmandu : Morocco’s National Day was commemorated in Nepal with a series of events marking the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne.
The Consul General for the Kingdom of Morocco in Nepal hosted a dinner to honor distinguished guests, including the Moroccan Ambassador to Nepal and India, Mohamed Maliki, and Ramkaji Khadka, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.
On the occasion, discussions focused on enhancing trade, investment, and tourism between Morocco and Nepal, with participants expressing optimism about strengthening bilateral relations through cultural exchanges.
The celebration included a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Ambassador Maliki and Consul General Megha Chaudhary at the Consul General’s office in Thapathali. Consul General Chaudhary emphasized the importance of introducing Moroccan culture, art, and tourism to the Nepali populace, aiming to foster deeper cultural and interpersonal connections between the two nations.
Chaudhary, who was appointed as the honorary Consul General in February, also serves as co-chairman of BLC Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd. The event attracted various diplomatic officials, government representatives, business leaders, and media personnel, highlighting the collaborative spirit between Morocco and Nepal.
