The final results of the House of Representatives election held on March 5 have been officially announced.

Today, the Election Commission submitted the election report, including the results, to President Ramchandra Paudel.

With the submission of this report, the process for forming a new government in the country will now begin.

In the 275-member House of Representatives, 165 seats were won through the first-past-the-post system and 110 through proportional representation.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) secured nearly two-thirds of the seats with a total of 182 MPs.

From RSP, 125 MPs were elected directly and 57 through proportional representation.

Nepali Congress won 38 seats, CPN-UML 25, Nepali Communist Party 17, Shram Sanskriti Party 7, Rastriya Prajatantra Party 5, and 1 independent candidate was elected.

According to Article 76 of the Constitution of Nepal, the President appoints the parliamentary leader of the majority party as Prime Minister, who will then form the Council of Ministers.
