The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of Nepal has urged not to make public speeches that jeopardize peace and security. The government, political parties, campaigners and the general public are made aware of it. Issuing a press statement NHRC urged all sides to be cautious on the free expression in relation to national security and peace.
NHRC has informed that it monitored the arrest of campaigner Durga Prasain and garnered information from the Kathmandu District Police Range, Bhadrakali, campaigner Prasain and related police officials.
Durga Prasai was arrested from his residence in Bhaktapur by  Kathmandu District Police team and the Valley Crime Investigation Office on Monday midnight. He was taken into custody for making statements that could cause violence and public disorder. He is detained at District Police Range, Kathmandu.
Prasai had been released earlier by the court after his arrest following the violent protest in Tinkune at on 28th march, 2025 which killed two and injured 45. Recently, he had been planning another movement with demands such as loan waivers and support for pro-monarchy activities on November 23.
