The Supreme Court has issued a mandamus order directing Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav to obtain a vote of confidence within 24 hours.

A bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Nityananda Pandey issued the order to the Province Head after three days of hearings.

The court ruled that Chief Minister Yadav must immediately prove the legitimacy of his position by securing a vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly.
