The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is set to operate an Information Desk to provide updates on tourists who went missing or were rescued following the Bhotekoshi flash flood on August 26.

A joint meeting involving officials from the Nepal Tourism Board, Tourist Police and representatives of tourism-related organizations decided to establish the desk to disseminate information while expediting search and rescue efforts for missing tourists.

Director General of the Department of Tourism, Ramkrishna Lamichhane, said the decision was taken to ensure better coordination in the search for missing tourists and to establish an integrated information system through the desk.
