Kathmandu. The United States has announced sanctions against Russia in more new areas. While Russia has been continuously attacking Ukraine for 2 years, America has announced more than 500 new sanctions against Russia. However, Russia has responded that the said sanctions will not have any effect.
According to which, more than 100 organizations supporting Russia are also on the list of sanctions. According to the statement issued by the White House, the sanctions were also imposed due to the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in the Arctic region of Russia.
In a statement issued by the White House, it is mentioned that Biden will impose sanctions on individuals connected to Navalny’s imprisonment, as well as other areas, including Russia’s financial sector, defense industrial base and procurement network. US President Biden has warned that Russian President Putin will pay a high price.
On the other hand, Britain has also imposed new sanctions on Russia. Announcing a new package of sanctions, Britain said it was trying to reduce President Vladimir Putin’s arms and war. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that more than 50 individuals and organizations have been banned.
Apart from the United Kingdom and the United States, the European Union has also announced a package of new sanctions against Russia. EU has banned 27 companies registered in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Turkey along with India.
On the other hand, Russia responded by saying that the sanctions will not have any effect and that the war in Ukraine will continue.
