Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court in a cheque bounce case.
The court approved his release on Monday after he deposited INR 1.5 crore, allowing him to remain out of jail until March 18.
According to the Hindustan Times, Yadav will be required to adhere to all court-mandated conditions during this period. His next hearing is scheduled for March 18.
After the bail was granted, Yadav’s manager, Goldie, said, “Yes, it is true that Rajpal sir has been granted interim bail. This is a moment of great happiness and joy for all of us.” He added that the actor plans to address the matter and speak to the media in a press conference within a day or two.
The case traces back to 2010 when Yadav reportedly took a loan for his self-directed film Ata Pata Lapaata. The movie’s failure allegedly left him unable to repay INR 5 crore, and with accumulated interest, the amount reportedly crossed INR 9 crore.
Yadav had surrendered to Tihar Jail on Feb 5, 2026, in connection with the cheque bounce charges. His release has been welcomed with support from many in the Indian film industry.
