Registrars and rectors appointed in six universities including Tribhuvan University

Kathmandu: The government has appointed registrars and rectors in six universities including Tribhuvan University (TU). Prime Minister and University Chancellor Balendra Shah has appointed the rectors and registrars on the recommendation of the Vice-chancellor of the respective university.

Accordingly, Prof Dr Anjana Maharjan Singh has been appointed as the Rector of Tribhuvan University while Prof Rabindra Shiwakoti has been appointed as the registrar. Shiwakoti is a professor at the Faculty of Education of TU, while Singh is a professor at the Faculty of Science.

Similarly, Prof Dr Panna Thapa has been appointed as the registrar of Purbanchal University, Prof Dr Nirmala Jamarkattel as the registrar of Pokhara University, and Prof Dr Tara Dutta Bhatta as the registrar of Sudurpaschim University.

Associate Professor Dr Sudip Thakuri has been appointed as the registrar of Madhya Paschim University and Dr Jeevan Kafle as the registrar of Rajarshi Janak University. The newly appointed Rector and Registrar took the oath of office and secrecy at a program organized at the Ministry of Education and Sports today.

At the swearing-in ceremony, Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel directed the newly appointed office bearers to work with a spirit of teamwork and effective coordination for university reforms and all-round development. Strong collaboration between the Vice Chancellor, Registrar and other university office bearers is necessary for higher education reforms.
