Soliloquy, A Poem by San Lin Tun from Myanmar

SOLILOQUY

A Poem by San Lin Tun from Myanmar

Loneliness seized him into the frame of isolation,
He could not think properly, recurrences of their images, again and again in his mental stream.
He sat down on the couch, grumbling,
Not wanting to watch his favorite TV series,
He knew that his senses were numb,
just staring at a blank wall, a house lizard
was clucking disapprovingly on it.

A flux of words was surging up in his chest,
Uncontrollably, stacks of them, being ready to plunge Into his abyss of thoughts Illogically
as inner monologues, out of concerns.
Alone in his estranged apartment,  surrounding with piles of many good books, his focus
was only on his thought of nothingness,
starting to peruse his voidness.

Senseless, meaningless, constant lethargy,
He realized loneliness was such a bitterness,
He needed companions or friends or a family,
to be a blissful life. He wanted to get out of
this lifeless frame of situation, to walk into
a real free life as others, Eagerly, he stored away his useless pride, being ready to welcome
them back into his life with open tender arms.

(It is about a man who holds pride against his family. When they left him behind, he started to feel loneliness that he assumed as being trapped in the frame of the situation. He later realized that pride or conceit could derail human relationship and one needs to remove it when one wants a good and sound relationship among friends and family.)
