In a fiery social media post, US President Donald Trump called on global powers to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz, vowing that the United States will ensure the critical waterway remains open.
Trump claimed that Iran’s military capability has been “100% destroyed,” but warned that Tehran could still attempt to disrupt shipping with drones, mines, or missiles.
The President urged countries including China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the UK to join the US in securing the strait, describing Iran’s actions as an “artificial constraint” on global trade. He pledged that American forces would continue bombing Iranian shorelines and sinking vessels if necessary, declaring: “One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!”
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most vital oil transit routes, and Trump’s remarks underscore the growing risk of military escalation in the Gulf region.
