US wildfires kill 24: $270 billion in damage, fires likely to grow
Kathmandu, The death toll in the Los Angeles fire has reached 24. California meteorologists have warned of more gusty winds, which could further fuel the fires this week.
Los Angeles County health officials confirmed the death toll to 24. The fire killed 11 people in the Eaton area and 5 in the Palisades area. Four fires are currently being controlled in the Los Angeles area.
The worst damage occurred in the Palisades area, where more than 23,000 acres were burned. On Sunday, a private weather monitoring company raised its initial estimate of the economic damage from the fires to between $250 billion and $270 billion.
