GLORIOUS DAHLIA

A Poem Composed by Ranjit K. Sahu 

 

 

Glowing in the morning’s warm sunshine

Large heads of colors swing to the winds’ mood

On the stalks they stand elegant and fine

Rising from their slumber variedly hued

In the heart beat of earth are heard their tones

Outshining all other decorations

Under their flamboyance fade flower zones

Springing woolflowers or bright carnations

 

Darlings of the green fingered gardeners

Awakening souls to voice of the earth

Hail the little heads that are head turners

Laughing away as each floret takes birth.

In the bosom of nature beauty grows

And thrills the eyes with its velvety shows.
