Prime Minister Sushila Karki inaugurated the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Sunday amid a grand ceremony at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The opening featured a helicopter flower shower, with top officials including NSC Member-Secretary Tankalal Ghishing and CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand in attendance.The tournament kicked off with a match between Kathmandu Gurkhas and defending champions Janakpur Bolts, with Kathmandu opting to field after winning the toss.
The NPL will run until December 13, featuring eight teams. The champion will receive Rs 11 million, while the runner-up, third-place and fourth-place teams will earn Rs 5.1 million, Rs 2.5 million, and Rs 1.5 million respectively.
